2018 Bead Peeps Hop n Swap Reveal!!!

6/4/2018

Welcome to the Swap N Hop reveal! The blog hop where a bunch of people swap stuff and make stuff. All made possible by the superhuman efforts of the very wonderful Linda Anderson of Cherry On Top Designs (blog and instagram).

I am valiantly trying to write this post surrounded by hoards of screaming, sandy kids, on the beach, on my phone, on holiday. It is fair to say that some interesting vocabulary has escaped from my mouth after the umpteenth “whoopsy we’ve lost your edits” message. So I am going to make this fairly brief before I lob my phone into the foaming sea!

My partner got quite poorly and was unable to get anything to me in time. So I took this as an opportunity to dig into my secret stash and to finally do something with a selction of pretties that I have been hoarding.

I picked out a kit that had never really appealed to me, and challenged myself to re-engineer it to suit my mood. Here’s the little stash I chose to work with, surrounded by our beachy finds as requested by my little people:

And here is what I made from it. I’m particularly chuffed with my toggle clasp:

Fantastic attitude (I can't remember of anyone participating without having received beads). Well, this necklace doesn't look like it was a challenge, it looks like something you made because you wanted it! Yes, the clasp is gorgeous and also the design and colors. Hats off to you!

For a selection of beads that you weren't quite inspired by, you sure made a stunner of a necklace. I hate that your partner wasn't able to send you anything, but so glad that you still made sure to participate in some way. enjoy your holiday!!

Your necklace is really beautiful. I love the colors and admire your beading. You even dug into your stash which is usually a thing.
I am familiar with the concept "Spring Break" and I am often in Florida at that time. My sympathies!

I STILL love that you took on your own challenge, despite your beads not arriving in time. I'm SOOO looking forward to seeing what, both, you and your partner make with the goodies that you received, too! GREAT work!
